In a groundbreaking effort to champion gender equity in the tech industry, SheforSTEM organized the Innovators Hackathon 2025 — a national event designed exclusively to encourage young women to code, create, and lead. Held in a hybrid format on July 20–21, 2025, the event brought together over 500 female students, professionals, and mentors to solve real-world problems through technology.
The hackathon aimed to challenge stereotypes and break barriers by creating a safe, inclusive space for women to innovate. Participants formed teams to build projects around themes such as education, sustainability, healthcare, and smart technology.
“Hackathons often feel intimidating for women due to the lack of representation. SheforSTEM flipped that narrative,” said one of the participants.
The event featured top-tier mentors and speakers from global companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. These women shared personal experiences, offered live feedback on projects, and inspired participants to pursue their goals unapologetically.
Workshops included:
Winners were awarded internships, certificates, and tech gadgets, but every participant walked away with something greater: confidence, experience, and a strong support network.
The Innovators Hackathon 2025 wasn't just about coding — it was about building futures.
